The next allocation of Canon EOS R5 Mark II is hitting retailers

In Norway one store got two bodies and the rest nothing afaik for September with a vague message from Canon that things might be better in October. I’m getting pretty frustrated and don’t want to buy it angry  It should be fun buying a new camera, right? Maybe a used, and cheap, R3 isn’t the dumbest idea still…

The Canon EOS R5 Mark II has been a frustrating launch when it comes to stock levels for both customers and retailers. There are still some long preorder lists in various countries around the globe, and the communication from Canon has been less than stellar for a lot of people. We also all saw the news that ‘new' EOS R5 Mark II orders could take more than 6 months to arrive. Canon publically stated that the issue(s) are with the supply chain, but they didn't articulate on that point. By the looks of it, Canon has removed the supply chain

Let us celebrate every single copy hitting the market - at least up to getting an own copy.

BTW: My preorder to Fuji early this year is still open - the money went to Leica instead, nothing left for a mirror to look back.

I ordered mine beginning of August from Harrison's Camera (UK Store) 10th in the queue. Nothing yet. Any idea of numbers for UK allocation? (small?). On a side note guys great light out there at the moment (UK end of Summer/Autumn) running a few films through my lovely A1

This is why I never buy a new to market "state of the art" camera in the first 6 months from it's lauch. There's just no support for it, from accessories through to raw support / Light room profiles. I've been burned so many times, I now wait until all the supply is stable, I can actually use the files from the camera in Light room, I can easily buy any grip / battery / card / remote clicky....etc that I might need or want. Other wise it's just one big frustration. I prefer to let everyone else do the initial shake downs and integration.
I feel this - I bought right away and got my camera early - a week before I left for a major trip to the Canadian Arctic for 11 days of camping. I didn't bring the R5ii because I couldn't get enough batteries to make sure I had power for the whole trip - I stuck with my 5D IV. Kinda frustrating, but so it goes in getting brand new gear. No regrets though - next time!

There’s been posts from others who ordered as soon as pre-orders opened at WEX who received camera on first batch of deliveries and others who ordered on same day but few hours later who received camera last week. Been a couple of posters who ordered at other UK retailers on day pre-orders opened who AFAIK are still waiting.

I ordered at end of July thru WEX and am still waiting. Been told by WEX they should get another delivery by end of the month, although they don’t have a date or how many. Interestingly I got an email today from my local WEX where I had ordered an LP-E6P battery on the 24th August to say that my battery was now in stock and available for collection.

From the info I’ve seen, I don’t think WEX have even cleared 50% of their pre-orders and other UK retailers got lower allocations than they did.

A major trip with a new unknown camera is always a risk.
I found out the the switch from the 5 DIV as main camera to the R5 II wasn't as easy as I thought. Despite having used the original R.
The R5 II is a different beast, ready to humiliate its inexperienced new owner. ;)

I've left all of those weird groups on Facebook. If they are troubling my personal karma, then life is too short to be a member of said group.
Sites that promote actual photosharing are more my thing these days and I have little time for reading about self obsessed narcasssists (it's social media right?) who are only interesting in bragging about their latest gear aquisitions.
your spot on

I checked his Facebook site on what he photographs - mainly scantily clad females in different swimware was posted. It would seem to me that eye/face recognition was a bit too high up for his purposes, though left or right might be applicable, and that face registration could be replaced by a different part of the anatomy.
yours is filled with boring birds shots
your good at putting folks too sleep lmao
